RE: another generator question

Excellent idea on the champions,You won't need to do the freezer once every 2 days if you keep it closed and then for only maybe an hour or so. The same type of management on the fridge as once every 4 hours or so as long as it remains closed. I have used my Champion to do many things in both the house & trailer & with some management they will do a lot of work for you quite easily & relatively quiet also! When testing mine our neighbors were impressed as to how much I could do and how quiet it was!!One of them ordered one for his backup power supply too! IMHO!

RE: who`s afraid of their toilet valve?

on most commodes if you push down on the flr control just a little it will put flush water in the bowl. as for keeping the screws tite try a dap of GOOP GLUE sold most every where. put in the screw hole and just snug up the screws let sit over night. Never had any problems with all of ours , but none of them needed to be pulled up on! What kind of unit do you have??

RE: Using Eternabond on seams as preventive measure

I have always done the two or three times a year roof check & always had to do some crack repair ,the stuff dries up and shrinks. I used to do the Dicor treatment in tubes but it cracked again so now I am nearly finished doing everything topside that should be sealed, with eternabond and love the results. I cut off any sharps in the old caulk with a razor blade carefully & wash with denatured alcohol wide enough for the ebond and nail it and roll it with a wallpaper roller, Done for a few years! There are people who have had in on for ten to twelve years and it looks as the day they installed it. Copperstate roof materials is about as reasonable as you can get & they have all sizes. I used 2 in and split some down to 1 in for some areas. It seems a 50 ft roll was around $30 dollars or so & it goes a long ways!

RE: Rubber roof - small tears

Eterna bond is the stuff to use & this is the place to buy as it is the cheapest I have found in quantity. http://www.bestmaterials.com/Eternabond.aspx I am currently doing all my roof seams to be good for the next ten to twelve years at least!IMHO

RE: Caution - Never buy Scientific Oregon Stuff

We have about ten oregon scientific units of varying degree as the family uses different things and we have been more than pleased with them. One unit went bad & they quickly sent us a new one no hassle!

RE: Sold on Dodge Mega Cab...

I'd be concerned with available payload if you bought the 2500Mega,plus4x4, can't be too much left? I also recommend the caution on the towing /payload on this model as several have been disappointed after buying one to find they are quite limited! Can't tow much!

RE: Wheel Bearings

Where is the best place to buy seals? lowcosttrailersupplies.com or redneck-trailer.com I used lowcost and got seals no one else had and they were double lipped. They were 2.00 a unit and shipped in about two days. Have a part number! I needed them for a Crossroads axle by alko and no one else had any! john b

RE: 35 or 39, that is the question

Experience tells me I wouldn't touch anything Gulfstream made with a stick! IMHO!!!

RE: Electrical Help

I am suprised that none of the intelligent electrical minded people on here didn't just say NO to trying anything like this! Also I believe the recommencation of a 14 ga cord to supply a 30 amp unit is way off base also. A 14 ga cord has no use on a rig except to lite the patio lights or some type of auxilary appliance or something like that! There are some really qualified participants on the subject of electricity on this forum as I read their inserts often to refresh my slightly retired talents in this area.IMHO!!!

RE: Hole in Battery

I saw a battery repaired with Tiger Hair a body filler and it held! If you have a battery builder near you they could repair or recase it also!

RE: HP Computer is a lemon - What would you do?

If you could get us the name and address... even e-mail address of HP customer service..(or lack of) I would GLADLY write them and tell them that this is NO WAY to treat a customer and I will never consider buying an HP unless they give you a brand new HP computer with EVERYTHING you want on it... in it and... under it!! :) :) I have a Toshiba laptop that just passed it's 3 year test and is working flawlessly!! I will definitely buy another Toshiba when I need a replacement!! Having said this... I could also get a lemon!! HP needs a "slap upside the head" and I would love to do that through an e-mail. However, it needs to be a top dog for it to work!! Good Luck, Shirl & Rich Just one week ago I ended a three time trip to repairs with my Toshiba & Now by golly it works better than it ever has! Success at last!!!System board, new fan, new speaker, reimaging the last time. One time they shipped it to Chino California when it was going to Lousiville Kentucky A Big Oops by the big brown truck Co.

RE: fifth wheel that can be pulled by 1/2 ton pickup

We just bought a new Silverado 4/Dr truck with the 5.8 liter engine, 1/2 ton. Does anyone know of a fifth wheel that this truck could pull? Thanks! Check out the Cruiser by Crossroads line as they were introduced as 1/2 to towables. I now need to hurry out to get a dually 1 ton as the one I have been using for 5 years a SRW isn't good enough according to Mr Mandalay.

RE: Do you add water & chemical to tanks during the drive?

Always a normal 2ozs and a couple of gallons of water. With a active enzyme product it can slosh every where to eat up the waste, worked fine for years now.

RE: Camshaft position sensor

The recalled unit is supposed to be new & improved version. I bought a spare a while back & it is the same as the recall unit I should be very good to go.I believe the old was black & the new is gray! Get the recall done and then carry a spare if you feel you should! I carry critical spares I deem best!!

RE: Best method to minimize 5er movement????

Take a look at one of the advertizers on this site the Steadyfast stabilizers we love ours! I had something similar to the Jts and like these much better,a lot of research went in to these and 4 years R&D! IMHO!!!

RE: PressurePro tire pressure system

Another vote for pressure Pro as it gives you a lot of peace of mind after two rapid deflations without anything to warn me!!
